Building Your Home Page

What does your home page speak about you or your company? Chances are, if it's like many Web sites out there, very small. Many companies understand that Web sites are a prime marketing channel for their business, but they not remember that other people, including possible customers don't eat, drink, breathe and sleep their products. This means that their Web site front page ends up being a showcase for whatever company scheme has the focus at the moment.

Some of the more ordinary elements of a company home page are:

  • Products for sale

  • News and Press Releases

  • Events and Announcements

  • Navigation

  • Search

  • What's missing from many home pages is a clear and brief description of the company. If your customers can't figure out what you're trying to sell or do for them right gone they might just give up and leave directly.

Don't Lose Visitors Because Of Poor Site Design

The most significant part of your site is the home page that is what your possible customers will see when they first visit the site. If that is not right, it doesn't matter what the rest of the site is like no-one will ever get to see it.

Think of your front page as the cover of a book, and the Web as a huge book store. Most of the people in the store are there to look around for a while, either not sure of what they want or just passing the time away. They will not choose up the first book they see and start reading it, but they will glance at the book covers until one catches their eye. They will then pick it up and look at the back cover for additional information. If that still retains their interest, they may then actually open the book. By this time they have almost surely glanced at the covers of two or three dozen books and read the back covers of another dozen.

They will then read a few paragraphs here and there and then they will probably put the book reverse on the shelf and go on browsing. Ultimately they may buy and read one of the many books they have glanced at.

    Ideas for a Successful Website

There are many things to consider when you desire to put up a website. First you must choose on the topic for your website. This should be something that you are very interested in and ardent about. Building and maintain a website takes time and work.

An important thing to keep in mind when you are designing your website is that you want a clean professional look. It might be pretty if your site looks like a Las Vegas nightclub act, but your visitors will almost certainly get confused and lost in the glitter and go onto another site. You want a clean, uniform design on all pages which should also be simple to navigate. Visit a few sites and see how they are set up and take observe of which ones you can easily find your way in and which ones you easily get lost in.

Another thing you want to do is to give quality, helpful information and content in your website. Once you have a visitor to your site, you want him to have a cause to come back. If you have a website about pets, put up articles on pet care and have links to additional websites that contain resources for pet owners.

Web Site Design: Who Is Your Audience?

One of the first things that you need to choose, long before you begin your analysis, design and accomplishment, is who is your audience? With whom are you trying to communicate? You are perceptibly creating a web site for a reason, and hopefully you planned someone to view it. In fact, you should define your audience before you even get into any details about what the web site is to do the "to do" will really be made much more clear once you appreciate your audience.

There is the odd condition of someone creating a web site just for him, but this is a very rare exemption. Usually there is some purpose for someone else to view the material, read the articles or snoop to the sounds.

So who is this group of people who you excluding for to visit your web site? This is a far more significant question that it appears on the surface, as it will define and guide you through just about every remaining phase of your web site accomplishment. The question of "who" will determine how you write, which graphics and sounds you comprise, what kind of HTML tags you use and what other technologies are desirable.

The Global Concept of Web Development

Web development is quite complex, because there are so many disciplines concerned. It takes some skills to construct a web site that delivers exactly what you want, with a good layout and with society building and you need to know technical aspects as well as research and marketing, encouragement, writing, etc. Web development also means hard job. It's an ever-ongoing effort as you will see under and if you don't have enough resources for it it's going to be hard. It's not the money that count so much as well as time, energy, persistence and a great will.

A very popular motive to create a web presence is to have a web presence. "Competitors have it, so should we" is often heard. It is a suspicious strategy. That is absolutely the wrong way. Companies or small businesses should have a better motivation to be on the Internet. Some steps are for the web development.

  • Product or service suited for the Internet.
  • Develop a USP, a Unique Selling Proposition.
  • Develop a site that sells with deadly precision, build content, and write sales letters, the technical stuff.
  • Get traffic!
  • Testing the site.

    What Color is Your Website?

In how many different ways does your website commune to your visitors?

You can answer in two ways. The first avenue is the copy (your writing), while the second is the option of colors you use. This report is the first is two- part series on understanding how your sites communicate to your visitors.

In part one, it shows about how colors affect and influence the mood of your readers. Part two shows how to use words and phrases to propel your visitors to take attention. So what color is your website?

During site formation, it is very easy to fall into the catch of "if I can, I will" thinking. This method of thinking is very unsafe. The basis is if I can create a site with 256 differently colored words, backgrounds and graphics, I will. Your site may look huge, but what will you accomplish?

The disadvantage to creating a single site with dozens of dissimilar colors is color compatibility between different operating systems, monitors and browsers. If the browser of your caller cannot illustrate an exact color from your website, it will decide the closest or mix the nearest two colors. This is called dithering. The result can be something you did not want or imagine. The best way to avoid dithering is to optimize your site colors. The greatest way to optimize your colors is to use the colors in a 216-color palette.

    Internet Marketing Strategies

Developing a successful internet marketing strategy is a necessary part of your online success. In order to be successful, you must develop and realize a strategic plan that includes all of the following:

    Developing Your Product

Your first step will be to expand a great product. You're most likely thinking that's easier said than done, but it's really not. The absolute best product is one that you can expand you and deliver over the Internet. With today's technology, there is completely no reason why you can't create your own product.

    Developing Your Web Site

Once you've developed a great product, your next step will be to develop an immense web site. Your web site must be specially designed to sell your product. Everything within your web site should have one reason getting your visitor to take action. Words are the most powerful marketing instrument you have. The right words will roll your visitors into customers. The wrong words will source them to click away and in no way return. Your words are the entire base of your business. Your product, your web site and your marketing strategy all depend upon your words. Fancy graphics don't make sales words do.

    Developing Your Marketing Strategies

Your marketing strategy is the final procedure of your plan. Your plan must include both short-term and long-term strategies in order to achieve something. Short term marketing strategies are those that bring you an impermanent boost in traffic. Although these techniques are very important to your over-all plan, they are only a temporary traffic basis and must not be solely relied upon. Long term marketing strategies are those that bring you a steady flow of targeted traffic over time. These strategies will persist to produce results even years down the road.
